Food and Nutrients for Detoxification

When supporting detoxification, consume warm, freshly cooked whole foods that are light, simple and easy to digest.  Include fresh, organic vegetables (particularly dark leafy greens and cruciferous vegetables), sweet, juicy fruits, whole grains, and easily digested proteins (mung dhal, lentil soup).  Use spices and herbs (ginger, pepper, coriander, turmeric, fennel, fenugreek) to enhance digestion. Make sure to include plenty of water, particularly warm or hot water to encourage the system to flush.

Most vegetables and fruits are good for detoxification, but especially:

•Cruciferous veg (broccoli, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, watercress, cabbage)

•Alium (garlic, onions)

•Soy (non-GMO soy foods)

•Grapes (dark), Berries (flavonoids)

•Green and Black Tea

•Rosemary, basil, turmeric, black pepper, cumin, poppy seeds

•Vitamins A (carotenoids), Bs, C (citrus  and dark leafy greens), E (mixed tocopherols)

•Minerals: iron, selenium, zinc, copper, magnesium

•Coenzyme Q10
